Socacize- get your workout on.....Island style!

Are you like me and in slight panic mode cuz your body ain’t ready for summer? Okay, I'm not too stressed (#lovingmycurves), but I am looking for a fun workout.

I recently heard about Socacize – an energetic dance/workout that will melt unwanted pounds and have your  body looking fierce!

I reached out to Ayanna Lee-Rivears, the Trinidad and Tobago native (big up Trinidad!) and founder of Socacize, and asked her to provide me with more deets on this fun way to workout.

What is Socacize?

Socacize Fitness is a creative blend of high/low impact aerobics and African and indigenous Caribbean dance movements performed to Calypso, Soca, Zouk, Reggae music, and on occasion drums. Socacize includes cardio, weight training, toning, tightening drills and combos to help you tone those troubled spots—arms, abs, legs and butt!

What prompted you to start the Socacize workout?

I have been performing Caribbean dance over 15 years and I thought it would be fun to introduce the dance styles to the general public to promote a fun, simple and healthy lifestyle!

How long do the classes run?

Regular classes run year round, bootcamp classes run 6 - 8 weeks.

What is the socacize bootcamp like?

The Socacize Fitness Inc.® Bootcamp program is a high intensity 2-hour and fun workout attracting over 100 revellers, masqueraders and party people.

Participants can choose to purchase an 8-week pass giving them access to any of the three bootcamp locations, or they can simply pay-as-they-go at the door. Participants can burn up to 1000 calories a class!

The bootcamp environment is like none other! Featuring the musical genius of globally and nationally recognized DJs, more than 100 hundred participants are led through a body busting Caribbean style- workout.  Rhythms to make you dance, fitness routines to build stamina, tone muscle, lose inches and boost confidence!

Where are the classes offered?

We have more than 100 Socacize Fitness Instructors located across Canada and the United States of America.  Click here to find a location near you.

Can anyone take a class?

Yes!
