Relating

Booty-licious?

It’s been some time since I wrote about one of my favourite topics.........men.

I was motivated to write this entry after seeing a bunch of questionably dressed fellas. Nah, they weren’t wearing anything outrageous like neon coloured thongs with heels. But they were, sadly, victims of the same fashion related issue that has been affecting young males since the dawn of time. Men who wear their jeans low...extra low.

Now I realize that this problem was at epic proportions during the 90’s, but it still seems to be such an issue today.

Maybe it’s that I’m getting older, but I find it hilarious (and disturbing) that guys wear their pants so low. You know that can’t be comfortable! It’s bad enough to see girls flashing their thongs whenever they bend down; but seeing a guy show all his stuff isn’t the manliest thing he can do.

I actually chuckled to myself last week when I caught a glimpse of a guy that was wearing a t-shirt (okay, a wife beater) and a pair of baggy jeans that practically clung to his knees for dear life. I unashamedly stared at his bum for ½ a block (I’m not a freak, really!), before I averted my eyes. I was in complete shock that someone would leave their house showing that much underwear.

So ladies, how do you feel about this? Do you like looking at men sportin’ their undies with low hung jeans or do you want them to pull up their damn pants already? Let me know!

Dollars and scents...

Marc Jacobs' Daisy is the most fabulous scent ever created. I have habitually spritzed it on every day ever since I bought it 365 days ago! Can you tell that I absolutely adore it?

About a month ago, I noticed that my beloved bottle of Daisy was coming to an end. I wanted to buy it, but I thought that I should look into buying something a little more economical (ahem, cheaper), and possibly find another signature scent.

When I was doing some shopping at Jacob, I noticed a nice luxuriant scent lingering in the store. The sales girl noticed my perplexed look and told me that it was a scent exclusive to the store. She sprayed a little on a piece of paper for me to try. Hmmm, I liked the way it smelled. It didn’t have a floral bouquet, and it wasn’t as light as I would prefer, but something about the perfume intrigued me.

I pondered buying it for a well over a month (I’m insanely indecisive!). After having a huge dinner with one of my best friends, we decided to visit a nearby mall to walk off some of the calories. I told him that I wanted to go to Jacob because I was considering buying the perfume. He agreed and we went. I sniffed the perfume again and detected an overwhelming masculine overtone. It still smelled good, but it was a little different from what I remembered. I asked my friend to smell it and he said that it smelled like something he wears. THAT should have been my first red flag!

Even though it smelled like something that a man would wear, I was thinking (hoping) that it would react differently with my body chemistry. So I bought it.

I wore it to work for about a week to get a feel for the potential new signature scent. I must confess; I don’t like this perfume! It’s alright, but it’s not as dainty as I would have preferred. It was a little too macho for me to handle.

So after smelling like a guy for well over a week, I gave in and spent my hard earned money on a Daisy gift set. It cost a little more but now I am a happy, sweet smelling grrl again!

Ohhhh Vanilla!

I had every intention of taking my sample of Lush’s Vanilla Dee-lite hand and body lotion to work to soothe my dry hands throughout the day, but after reading the luscious list of ingredients (natural coconut, illipe butters, fresh kiwi)from the label, I was forced to try it ASAP.

After a looong hot shower, I slathered some of the velvety lotion onto my skin. It wasn’t as creamy as I expected, but it moisturized my thirsty skin right away.

Although the scent wasn’t strong or overpowering, it was incredibly long lasting. I was actually able to still smell the vanilla floral scent when I woke up! Now that’s a sign of a great lotion!

I was contemplating buying a bottle for my mom for Mother’s Day, but..... I think I will buy it for myself- just kidding, I’ll buy it for my mom!

Need a great gift to give to your mom for Mother’s Day? Check out this lotion from Lush.

Single of the Week

I’m sooo totally becoming a Keri Hilson fan. She’s got a great voice, a cool and edgy fashion sense, and her ever changing hairstyles can rival my girl Rihanna.

Even though I’m still obsessively listening to her first release Turnin’ Me On from her debut album, In A Perfect World…, I find myself singing along to her latest track, Knock You Down which features Ne-Yo and Kanye West.

Both Ne-Yo and Kanye West typically rule the charts on their own, but I like how they stepped in, spit their verses and then let Miss Keri showcase her vocal versatility.

What I also like about this song is that it has so many elements. It’s pop, little bit of r& b and a dash of hip hop for good measure. The video is quite artsy and cute as well. (psst...her scenes with Kanye are quite convincing!)

Okay, I’m sure you can tell that I looove this song. Let me know what you think!
