Not only did I score a free ticket, my friend informed me that we will be (along with her peeps from work) sitting in a private VIP room with all the amenities you could possibly want (read: free food and liquor! LOL!). Damn, I’m glad this wasn’t a cruel April Fools’ joke. I happily accepted the invite and told her I would meet her there.
When we entered the venue, we spotted tons of stylistas milling around. I’ve never seen such a collection of fab shoes in all.my.life! I seriously need to step my shoe game up.
After people watching for about an hour, my friend and I headed to the VIP room. It was soooooo cool! We had an awesome panoramic view of centre stage. We weren’t front row, but we were able to see everything and everyone! At one point in the night, Sunny, the Project Runway Canada winner from season 2 dropped by our room to chat with a few people. As much as I wanted to tug on his sleeve and tell him how much I loved his designs on Project Runway, he left quietly and I restrained myself from running after him!
The fashion show itself was super fun. I’ve never been to a fashion show before and it was soo exciting to be sitting and watching the uber-gorgeous models in their fab clothes prancing up and down before my very eyes. It was way more fun than watching it in my un-fab living room!
BTW, fashion shows are all of 20 minutes long! They are short! Seriously, the intermissions last longer than the actual shows. But I didn’t care, it was cool to be a part of the “glamorous life”, if only for a few hours. LOL!
