Chic Bohemian

I love the bohemian look.   It’s not a highly polished or sleek look, but I love how it stirs up images of flowy skirts and exotic jewelry.

When I heard that Bizou—the incredibly affordable fashion and jewelry store—was debuting their “Chic Bohemian” line, I was all over it. I asked for a few items to review and I was given a year’s worth of goodies.  I’m not complaining!

I received gold (toned) necklaces, earrings and a pretty ring.  I typically don’t wear a lot of gold jewelry (real or costume), but the items I was sent looked like sooo much fun to wear, I couldn’t contain myself from playing dress up.

My eyes were immediately drawn to this gold bracelet withturquoise coloured adornment.   It’s the perfect finishing piece to any summer outfit.    I envision myself wearing it with a white halter dress with flip flops or a cute lil wedge shoe.   Can’t wait to rock that outfit!

I like the bracelet but my fave item of all the pieces was this simple pair of dangly earrings.  It isn’t blinged out or too big, but it makes a great statement.  It’s hippie chic, sexy and super feminine.  I’m probably going to wear my hair up so that my adorably dainty earrings take center stage.

Summertime is the best time to experiment with a new look.  I plan on tapping into my inner Nicole Richie and let my Bohemian chic shine!

Funky accessories for gift giving...or for yourself!

Christmas is right around the corner and if you’re stuck on what to get your mom, sister, daughter, bestie, neighbour, or even boss, check out the accessories that I bought (pssst....I bought them for myself [my bad!], but I’m certain you’d want to share them with your loved ones!).

Knitted caps

It’s getting kinda cold out, eh?  If you’re like me, I’m positive that you want to stay warm and look good while doing so.  So what do you do?  I suggest you peruse the assortment of knitted hats/caps at Ardene.

They are soooo affordably priced; I almost walked out of there with all the hats!  But instead, I controlled myself and  I purchased 2 (they are currently priced 3/$15—I bought 2 and bought a belt that was on sale for 3/$15).

Love the black sequined hat for every day, and I completely love the bright yellow one.  I wear the sunny yellow hat when I really want to stand out!

Leopard print clutch from Payless

Payless offers more than reasonably priced footwear.  You can’t go wrong by walking by their other sections—like the accessory section.

I just happened to be looking for some shoes when I strolled over to the handbag/purse wall.  I glanced at the cutest li’l clutch that would be oh-so perfect for a girls’ night out.  It was part of their BOGO event (buy one get one half off), so I scooped up another clutch for 7 bucks!  Price of the leopard clutch- 22.99.

This compact clutch can be paired with an LBD or even a sexy red number.  Can’t wait to rock this!

Love my bling!

When I don’t want to drop a lot of money on a whole new outfit, I tend to stock up on jewellery. Statement necklaces and rings breathe new life into your tried and true staple outfits.

I usually hit my fave spots for jewellery- Le Chateau, Aldo Accessories and RW & Co.  But a few weeks ago, I ventured to The Bay.  Not the place you normally think of when you think of jewellery, but there were some renovations done to the location that I went to, and I must say, the jewellery selection was pretty nice.

I walked around for about 40 minutes before I decided on 4 rather awesome necklaces. My fave was this gold toned feather necklace adorned with blue stones.  It was $24.00 on sale for 25% off.

Since it is a metal, you can wear it with all colours. I paired it with a brightly coloured dress and the necklace became the focus of the outfit.

Hope my suggestions help you with your gift giving needs.  Have fun shopping.

Time to accessorize!

I may be a couple of months late for this trend, but it has finally worn me down and I really HAD to get one of those cute dangly chain necklaces. I know that they’ve been in for a while, but I really wanted to get one because they’re incredibly cute and can totally dress up any outfit—even a simple plain t-shirt.

I went to the mall and started my search. I really didn’t want to spend too much on it, especially since I have no idea how long this trend will last. I rather spend a lot of money on something that that I know will be around a lot longer.

My first stop was Dynamite. I usually shop there for jewelry because I tend to find a lot pieces at a great price. I did manage to find a nice simple silver dangly necklace within minutes of walking into the store. The fab necklace was only $12.00! I was soo exited I almost bought it on the spot, but I wanted to see what the other stores had to offer. So I made my way to Le Chateau.

I adore the jewelry selection at Le Chateau. They have everything that you could possibly want and they cater to women of all ages. Everything from super trendy to simple and elegant.

I studied the jewelry section until something caught my eye. I saw a blingalicious necklace that I really wanted to own, but it was a whopping $22.95!? I wasn’t feelin’ the price tag, so I put it back on the hook and headed straight to Ardene.

As soon as I walked in, I saw a sign on the wall that read, “3/$15”. Basically, anything on the wall was 3 for 15 bucks! Woo hoo! You couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. It was virtually impossible to leave empty handed. The price point and the selection were insane!

The first piece that I picked up was a silver multi-strand necklace with a patch of black strands. It actually reminded me of a necklace that I saw Rihanna rocking in a photo. So you know it had to be hot! Cool, one down two more to go! Then I saw a long, gold chain with interlocking hoops that looked ridiculous…in a good way! I envisioned myself wearing a plunging neckline and donning this in-you-face necklace. I soooooo had to get it. So I picked it up and started the search for the last necklace to add to my collection.

Okay, the last one took a while to find. After a few minutes (which actually felt like eternity), I found a shiny silver necklace that was adorned cute chain links. I took all three necklaces to the cashier, paid for them and pranced merrily out of the store. I was sooo happy with my purchase. I basically got all three necklaces for the price of one! Even with the tax, it came up to $17!? Okay, I am the bargain diva! Holla!
