Pamper your feet with Lush treats

When it comes to my feet, I need a product that will deliver.  I honestly neglect my feet and I rarely show them the attention they so deserve.   So when summer rolls around, my feet look BUSTED!!

Enter Lush

I’ve been a supporter of Lush products for about 10 years now, so I knew they’d be able to turn my feet from fugly to fabulous.

Volcano Foot Mask
Deodorizing foot mask to smooth and soften

Like I said, my feet needed some lovin’, so I started with the foot mask.  The instructions say to slather on a good amount, wrap your feet in plastic wrap, and then wait 10 minutes.

I coated my feet with a copious amount of this gooey greyish (almost cement-looking) mask.  The smell is not the greatest, but it felt incredible on my feet.

After 10 minutes I rinsed off the mask and scrubbed away the dead skin (gross, I know!).

I did notice a difference in the appearance of my feet, but I also knew that I’d probably need a few more applications to see a huge difference. I really liked how healthy my skin looked.

Fair Trade Foot Lotion
Refreshing Arnica and Mint Infusion for sore feet

Once I towel dried my feet, I applied this rich rouge-y coloured lotion on my parched feet.  It completely quenched my feet—they felt hydrated and looked moisturized.

I appreciated that this lotion had a light spearmint scent rather than the typical peppermint-y fragrance.  The spearmint is less overwhelming and smelled like a stick of gum!  Love this product.

Both products are must-haves, but I really, really, really loved the foot mask. I was able to relax while it worked its magic and I loved the results. I will def have cute feet once I use these products regularly.

Good Eats!

My bestie and I have recently discovered that you don’t have to travel to the heart of the city to find an amazing restaurant.  There are plenty of yummy delights in your own backyard.

We stumbled upon our newest fave hot spot because my friend and I simply couldn’t fathom travelling all the way downtown for lunch on one of the hottest days of the year.  So we decided to avoid the congestion of the city, and check out a spot that was a little closer to home.

We both had no idea where to eat, but agreed on a location and we’d take it from there.  As soon as I stepped out of the subway station, I saw the words “Po Boys”.  I was enthralled (psssst- I looooove anything bbq or creole, basically any food from the south).  So when I met up with my friend I told her that we should check it out.  She laughed and said that while she was waiting for me to arrive; she already looked at the menu on the door and decided what she wanted to eat!  LOL!  Gotta love my girl!

The restaurant was quaint and fortunately not crowded.  I perused the menu and had trouble deciding what to get. Honestly, everything looked delish.  After much debate, I settled on getting a blackened catfish po boy with sweet potato fries.

Note- this is not a pic of the po boy I ordered.  It was taken from the restaurant's website.

Twenty minutes later my meal was placed in front of me. I sunk my teeth into the sandwich and I swear a tear flowed from my eye!  The po boy was incredibly flavourful.   The catfish was nicely seasoned, tasted great and wasn’t too spicy.  The fish was fantastic, but the flavour was kicked up a notch with spoonfuls of creamy garlicky sauce smeared all over the crusty French bread.  I loooooove this po boy!

My meal was accompanied with thinly cut sweet potato fries which were also mouth-wateringly good.  They were crispy and not greasy.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals (no crumbs were left on our plates!) and the service.  I highly recommend anyone looking for a tasty po boy sandwich to visit this restaurant.  Don’t forget to let me know what you think!  Enjoy!

Chic Bohemian

I love the bohemian look.   It’s not a highly polished or sleek look, but I love how it stirs up images of flowy skirts and exotic jewelry.

When I heard that Bizou—the incredibly affordable fashion and jewelry store—was debuting their “Chic Bohemian” line, I was all over it. I asked for a few items to review and I was given a year’s worth of goodies.  I’m not complaining!

I received gold (toned) necklaces, earrings and a pretty ring.  I typically don’t wear a lot of gold jewelry (real or costume), but the items I was sent looked like sooo much fun to wear, I couldn’t contain myself from playing dress up.

My eyes were immediately drawn to this gold bracelet withturquoise coloured adornment.   It’s the perfect finishing piece to any summer outfit.    I envision myself wearing it with a white halter dress with flip flops or a cute lil wedge shoe.   Can’t wait to rock that outfit!

I like the bracelet but my fave item of all the pieces was this simple pair of dangly earrings.  It isn’t blinged out or too big, but it makes a great statement.  It’s hippie chic, sexy and super feminine.  I’m probably going to wear my hair up so that my adorably dainty earrings take center stage.

Summertime is the best time to experiment with a new look.  I plan on tapping into my inner Nicole Richie and let my Bohemian chic shine!
